about me

I was born in Elsterwerda/ Germany in 1981 and spent my first two years at my great-grandparents’ in a very small village. Later they told me that I dug watching pupils on the other side of the street out of the window. Actually, this kind of activity is still one of my favourite and most absorbing ones: have an eye on people, watch what they’re doing and what story they might keep.

After a failed qualifying test for art school, I decided to sign on university courses in dramatics, history of art and pedagogics. I changed my mind and studies after a year and am currently trying my best to leave university some day as an art teacher. To be honest, the education isn’t that satisfying, but it offered me something which I can’t keep my hand’s off anymore: printing, etchings, aquatints...This kind of stuff has totally changed me: Sometimes I think I turned into Sister Turpentine, anyway I spent most of my time in the printing studio, doing things like illustrating the 69 Love Songs and getting on my lecturer’s wick by messing anything up and listening to huge piles of records at top volume...
