PROBLEM ADDING A LARGE NUMBER OF ITEMS TO A DISTRIBUTION LIST
There is not an exact number of contacts that you can add in a DL, the limit is
based on the total size of the contacts. If you use the very basic information
for contacts (for example, only the name and the e-mail address), your DL limit
may be 125 to 130 contacts. On average, the number of contacts that you can add
to a DL is limited between 50 and 70 contacts, but for some user who have
contacts that contain a large amount of data, the DL limit can only be as little
as 25 contacts. The DL limit is also based on the property size limit of the
Microsoft Exchange server. The property size limit for an Exchange server is
about 8 kilobytes (KB). The Exchange server stores all contact links in one
property store, so the DL limit depends on the contact's name length and the
size of the entry ID (the type of e-mail address and the length), on average
Create multiple distribution lists, each with no more than the maximum number of
items.

HOW TO REMOVE OUTLLOK DUPLICATES EMAILS
If you have just a few duplicates, it may be easiest to manually remove them. For emails, this is no problem but for any other Outlook item it is easiest to view the items in a table view, then select the duplicates, then delete them.
To accomplish this, go to View...By Category (or "By" anything really). This gets the view into a mode you can work with. Click either names or subjects (or any shown field) in the column header (in the gray area) to gather similar items together. You can then delete all the duplicates you find.

Microsoft have published the following Article 841273 in the Knowledgebase
OUTLOOK 2003 STOPS RESPONDING AFTER A LONG PERIOD OF USE
While Outlook 2003 is running, it periodically pages memory in and out of the process address space. When the memory that is free is large, Outlook 2003 is permitted to have more pages in memory. This increases the memory that is being used by Outlook 2003. If another application requires memory, Outlook will release memory. When you minimize the Outlook 2003 program window, the pages are switched so that the pages that are not required for user interaction are switched out of memory. When you maximize the Outlook 2003 program window again, the pages that are used for user interaction are switched in to memory, and the memory usage begins to increase again. This could happen when working with a large .pst or .ost file as well as other actions within Outlook.
