Released 1973 on the album Never, Never, Never and on some singles. The single "Never, Never, Never" reached position number eight in the charts. 1984 recorded again together with the London Symphony Orchestra on the album I Am What I Am.

The original Italian song "Grande, Grande, Grande" had been performed by Mina before. Here an Italian site about Mina. Norman Newell penned the English lyrics to the song to reach an international audience. Since then this song was part of almost every live concert until today. Therefore it is available on many live albums and collections and videos.

On live concerts Shirley Bassey sometimes jokes that this song is from the time where she "was married to the Italian". She means Sergio Novak with whom she was married from 1968 till 1979. Here's a picture of Shirley Bassey with her then husband Sergio Novak.

A remix of Shirley's version by the "Groove Armada" has been released in September 2000 on The Remix Album...Diamonds Are Forever.

Celine Dion released this song 1997 on her album "Let's Talk About Love" as duet together with Luciano Pavarotti. She only slightly modfied the lyrics and called it then "I Hate You Then I Love You".

Vikki Carr recorded this song too, but in Spanish and she kept the original title "Grande, Grande, Grande".

The Belgian singer Sandra Kim did record in 1993 a whole record with covers of sixties years songs: "Les Sixties" in French and "Sixties" in Dutch. On both records is a cover of "Never, Never, Never": French: "La rue de nos premiers baisers", Dutch: "Nooit of Nooit". The links lead to a fan page of Michel with translations.

In 2001 another Belgian singer Frank Galan has released an English/Spanish version of "Never, Never, Never" in duet with the Belgian singer Dana Winner. The lyrics are on the Dana Winner site.
