There are some bugs with the new version and i will list these at the bugreport. These Bugs will be fixed in the next version, i hope :).
¬ New version out now (11-06-03)
Yeah, it's real. I have managed to code a new version of the bf42`ircbot. There are some new features and bugfixes, but the main reason why i developed the new version is the ability that i can show you the exact tickets of every match. This is now possible because DICE added some nice features in the new patch 1.4 for Battlefield 1942. So the ticketstatus only works with 1.4.
¬ Buglist (04-03-03)
So, today I release a buglist of BETA 1.1. I hope that I can fix it in BETA 1.2 but I can't tell you when I will release it because I will completely rewrite the source code. And thank you for your great response. I got many emails with feature requests and bugreports but I must tell you that I cant realize a ticketstatus, flagstatus and so on because there are no information about tickets and I cant calculate these :(. In the next version I will release a multilanguage support for the irc texts. So if you want to help me send an email with the translation of the following phrases:
¬ player1 killed player2
¬ player1 killed a teammate.
¬ player1 is no more.
¬ player1 killed himself.
¬ player1 caputured a flag!
¬ 1.1 BETA out now (17-02-03)
For our english people: YES it is in english, only! I decided that I will only release an english version, no german or any other language. In 1.1 I fixed some bugs and I completely translate it to english :) Have a look at the changelog to see the fixes in detail.
bugreport:
¬ !gameinfo trigger doesn't work (Solution: The Channelname must be case sensitive!!)
¬ Bot doesn't join the channel, but is on the irc server. This problem exists with the gamesnet (Solution: try different gamesnet server, see NEWS)
¬ Bot stops to report the tickets. (Solution: Try to keep one slot of your gameserver open)
readme:
¬ Description
With this program you can broadcast a game into the IRC. You think its a joke? No thats real :). In other games such a program is standard (eg: Halflife), but in Battlefield 1942 its a little bit difficult because there is no logile. So normal its not possible to broadcast a game into the irc but i found a really good solution: Read the queryport! :). The accuracy of this calculation isn't perfect so there might be some errors. I hope that i can optimize this calculation for better results.
¬ Using the program
This program is very easy to use. You must fill out all input fields in the "IRC", "BF42" and "Color" Tab. Note: You must enter the queryport (eg: 23000) and not the gameport (eg: 14567) This is very import. If you have no idea which queryport your server has, ask the administrator or try ports between 23000 and 23010. I think there will be no more then 10 server instances on one machine.
Every time you want to broadcast a game you must click the "Start Broadcast" Button. Until you have clicked it no information will be send to the IRC so you can use the IRC and the BF42 Section of its own. Of course there is is an "Apply" Button and a Trafficinformation. By clicking the Apply/Exit Button the settings will be saved into the settings.ini. The Trafficinformation shows you how many kb/s the program need :). Also the program has a Trigger "!gameinfo". If you type this in a channel where the program broadcast a game you get some information about the server.
