DAYDREAM BELIEVERS
The Monkees Story

First we start with a little comparison:

DAVY / GEORGE
MICKY / AARON
MIKE / JEFF
PETER / L.B.

We decided that this movie could have some other subtitles. Well, at least concerning us Chickies! They are the following:

Watching Daydream Believers with Wolle and Fuzzy
or
How to fall for L.B.
or
The night in which the VCR ate L.B., Jeff, Aaron and George up
(The VCR killed'em. The VCR ate'em up! *ggg*)
or
Daydream Believers and the sensational appearance of George Harrison!
or
Could anyone put Jeff in trousers that actually fit him?!

Okay, we gonna write a bit to every one of these subtitles!

  • Watching Daydream Believers with Fuzzy and Wolle:
    First of all the earliest time to watch is 2 am! Or when you come home in the middle of the night from somewhere! You always forward Don Kirshner and the stupid beginning of the film. Always imitate a parrot when Polly Shannon appears. You know all the lines by heart and quote them even before the actors said them but you get absolutely quiet when Peter talks to Davy in the scene where Davy is tired! And cheer when Mike smashes the wall! Right, kiddo!!! And you always scream when the real Peter has his cameo appearance!

  • How to fall for L.B.:
    Very easy! Just look at him! No, it is not that easy. In the beginning we all were very sceptical about the guy who should play Peter because we only saw a very bad photograph of him, where he looked very *ahem* silly! But then we saw the movie! First of all Greenie and Wolle got to see it and when they visited Fuzzy they were both swooning about L.B. all the time. Fuzzy couldn't believe it! But L.B. made her a believer! In the middle of watching the movie (her fave scene where Peter talks to Davy) she just turned to Greenie and Wolle and sighed: "Okay, he really has cute eyes!" and continued to watch! And what can we say: all of us are L.B. believers now!

  • The night in which the VCR ate L.B., Jeff, Aaron and George up:
    Oh boy, what a night! Well, to start at the beginning. In the middle of the night Wolle and Fuzzy arrived in Berlin after visiting Nev and the first thing they did was, of course, watching Daydream Believers! So far, so good! But then the "I've Got A Little Song Here"-Scene came and well... Fuzzy turned to Wolle and said about Aaron: "Wow, there he really sounded like Micky!" When they both looked back at the TV screen it was pitch black! A second later MTV was roaring and screaming at them (or was it just a modern band trying to sing???). And we nearly fell off the couch! Then we had a look what happened. But all cables were still in the right place! That bad VCR ate our guys up and died. Food poisoning? We don't think so! Those guys must be delicious. That machine was just old! But what now? It wouldn't give us the cassette back! We were sitting in front of that VCR and calling for the guys.
    Fuzzy: "JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEF??? Are you alright!"
    Wolle: "Elllllllllllllll Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!?!?! How are you?!"
    Fuzzy and Wolle: "Don't worry, guys! We'll get you out of there! Just hold on, we rescue you!"
    And we did! We got a hammer, a srew driver and our hands! And then we started the operation! But, boy, was that VCR stubborn! The screws wouldn't come off easy. The last ones wouldn't even come off at all. So in the end we ripped it open with pure force! HAAAHAAA! Girls in love have the strengths of thousands. We got the cassette back, got another VCR out of the living room and finished watching! And we watch happily ever after!
    This is the VCR right before we tore it open the final bit to rescue our guys!!!:
    By the way: the VCR has been buried! May he rest in peace!

  • Daydream Believers and the sensational appearance of George Harrison:
    What can we say about that! What a performance! We never saw something like it! Man, what a line! Our fave quote! "'ello!" So simple! Wow!

  • Could anyone put Jeff in trousers that actually fit him?!:
    Actually nearly everything looked too big on him! Even the bobble of his woolhat (toque for you Canadians)! But it doesn't really matter, he looks good in anything anyway! But his trousers definitely were too big on him! LoL! Did he have to hide a lot in it? *eg* Wouldn't be bad!

Some Chickie quotes about the movie and its actors:

* Wolle (after seeing that silly pic of L.B. we mentioned before): "He looks more like that boy on the Kinderchocolate packages than Peter!"

* Fuzzy: "Could someone pleeeeeeeeease put Jeff in trousers that actually fit him?!"
* Wolle (and everybody else as soon as Polly appears on the screen): "*bwack* Give Polly a cracker!"
* Fuzzy: "Wow! It is a matter of millions of dollars but Micky once says Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaase and they get their way!"
* Mary: "Boy, is Christian a fast growing kid! First he is born a few months too late and then after three months he is one and after two years he is about five!"
* Wolle & Fuzzy in a mail to their fellow chickies after the VCR ate the boys up: "Well, operation went well, patient is dead but the movie is saved. Only now L.B. and George have wrinkles *sniff*."
* Greenie: "Funny, isn't it? Davy Jones's Dad opens the door to let him in but all those girls are more excited about the brick instead of trying to get into the house!"
Wolle & Fuzzy (also known as the hardcore Believers): "But it is still early for us, we just went into bed at half past six in the morning cause we had to swoon about Jeff and L.B. all night long!"
Nev (screaming, while watching the movie for the first time, everybody is swooning about Jeff and L.B. and wishing Polly would leave the screen): "The car! Did... did... did you see the car!? The car!!! Woah!"
Patty (after Wolle copied and send her the movie): "Okay, I watched it! All I saw were some blurry and muddy points! Does it have to be like that?"

And now our fave quotes (a selection) We also use them on a daily basis, it is great when nobody here in Germany gets it why you are talking English all of a sudden!:
* "De queeeeenh!"
* "Tape recorder on? Aha... alright!"
* "And now we have to see if someone actually buuuuuuuuuuyyyyyyyys it!"
* "Bingo Johnny! Give the man a prize!"
* "Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase!" (we use that one all the time - LoL)
* "Sleep is actually highly overrated!"
* "Van, you might wanna move!?"
* "A movie that's a building!"
* "Wanna hit?"
* "Ding!"
* "You've grown into a luvely woman, lad! Spitting image of your muthah!"
* (in parrot mode):"I am worried about you, Mike!"
* "Don't go in there, Corky! They are craaaaazy!"
* "I dig your boots!"
* "Remind me not to visit Texas!"
* "I don't wanna be the dummy! I'm always the dummy!"

Before quoting the whole movie we might wanna stop!

Hehe, that is how crackers we are! We even made a L.B. and a Jeff cake! Man, were they delicious *yummy*

P.S.: Mary, Fuzzy and Wolle became huge Jason-fans because of Jeff! Man, we can't wait till the new "Friday the 13th" comes into our cinemas! By watching eight of those movies we fell for him! Jason just needs a little love. That's all!

Do you wanna go over it again? - No, I wanna go hoooome!
