E. O. Hoppé: Picturesque Great Britain - The Landscape and the Architecture
Ernst Otto Hoppé was born in 1878 and died in 1972. He is the of the one of the most prominent photographers of the Edwardian Era. Nevertheless there are very few informations about him in the World Wide Web. All pictures of this site are photographed by Hoppé at the beginning of the 20th century and published in the book "England – Baukunst und Landschaft" (Picturesque Great Britain - the architecture and the landscape) by Verlag Ernst Wasmuth AG, Berlin in 1926. The first (and only?) edition covered 20000 copies, some of them cloth-bound or with a leather binding. The pictures were scanned at a resolution of 300dpi, saved as JPEG and converted to the actual size in 2000. I wish to thank the E. O.
