Tidex
=======

1) Description: Tidex is a universal tiny, fast and compact database reader for Casio Pocketviewer PDA's.
Tidex is suitable for dictionaries, encyclopedias and any sorted lists like adress databases,
large phonelists et cetera. Tidex is able to manage as much databases as match at your
pocket viewer (up to 16) and provide searching and look up any word during typing it.
The databases are stored at the personal data space. It really easy to download
or delete them because they are enveloped in the Casio-ADT fileformat. That's why, you
may use your PVM as usual to download or erase a database. Of course you may also use
the 'Delete' and the 'Memory managment' option at your pocket viewer to handle these files.

7) How to use: General:
                 --------
After starting Tidex you must specify a database you want to use. This is called
mounting. Please use [MENU] -> mount tdx, select a database and press the mount button.
All database files (*.tdx) found at the data space area at you PV will be listed
                 in this dialog.
To transfer a tdx file to your data space area simply use the Casio PVM and drag
and drop the desired file from your windows explorer to the file list at your PVM.
Please note: Any tdx file (*.tdx) is enveloped in a Casio style *.adt file to provide
a 100% compatibility. Once dragged and dropped to the PVM the file will lose its envelope
and some of its size and it is now just a raw database flat memory file.
However, after mounting a tdx you may use it freely and also ask for some informations
about it. Use [MENU] -> tdx info for that request.
To query the database just input the search string via keypad. To delete last type
press 'DEL', to delete the entire string press 'CLR'.
To scroll through the database and to show/hide the keyboard use the action wheel.
To restart the last search click on the search string. This is usefull if you have
searched for an entry and scrolled away.
If any large database entry does not fit on screen, a keypad will be shown to scroll
through the subindices of an entry.

                 Menu:
                 -----
To reach the main menu press the top bar on screen which is labeled with [ MENU ].
The following menu list will appear:
                 # mount tdx - let you choose a database for further usage
                 # keyboard - hide / show the on screen keyboard, this may be usefull for large
database entries, because you have more display space
                 # search again - starts the last search again, this is usefull if you have searched for an
entry and scrolled away to get back without changing the search string,
since a start of search is originally only triggered by any string change
                 # tdx info - show the database attributes, please note you must mount a database before
                 # about - show the version info of Tidex

                 Action wheel:
                 -------------
                 # push - hide / show the on screen keyboard, this may be usefull for large
database entries, because you have more display space
                 # down - scroll to the next index (after once input the first character)
                 # up - scroll to the last index (after once input the first character)

                 Features:
                 ---------
                 # fast realtime indexing during typing
                 # small keyboard for more display space
                 # one click keyboard hide/show
                 # scrolling through the list of indices after input the first character
                 # supports capitalization and the following umlaute & accentuated characters

                 # automatic line wrap
                 # subindex scrolling via keypad

                 Databases:
                 ----------
There is a great variety of *.tdx databases available as freeware, actually
20 files, including a lot of dictionaries. Please check www.tidex.de.vu for
                 downloading these databases.

                 TdxBuilder:
                 -----------
You are able to build *.tdx-Databases on your own. Please use the TdxBuilder for
that purpose. This Windows(TM) tool compiles structured text lists to databases.
Please check www.tidex.de.vu for downloading this tool.
