Bolivar Soloists
In London, 2003, young students of the Royal Academy and Royal College of
Music founded an ensemble with the artistic aim of performing
Latin American Chamber Music. Bolivar Soloists made
their first public
appearance in the “Bolivar
Hall” of the Embassy of Venezuela in London and have
since performed extensively in the U.K. and Germany, including
performances for the Centre of Latin American Studies of Cambridge
University and the English Chamber Orchestra Young Artist Series. The repertoire Bolivar Soloists specialize
in is full of exotic rhythms and
original musical structures that reflect the mixture of race and culture
present in Latin America. This repertoire shows what a fantastic source of
material can be found in Latin American popular music. This material,
re-worked using modern composing techniques, opens the door of a new musical
dimension that bonds the European and Latin American traditions in
search of a music that reaches the audiences and allows the artists to
express themselves in a common language. Bolivar Soloists are a group of young and
talented musicians from different corners of the world
who found in this music an authentic and original way of expression. Bolivar Soloists, under the direction of flautist,
arranger and composer Efrain Oscher, are emerging as one of the fresher
and more innovative chamber groups of today. |
