Die Optiker:
Our drummer! Our singer! Our bass-guitar player! Our guitarist and composer! Our keyboarder!
Archie (dr) Detlef (voc) Dirk (b.) Nash (git.) Lem (keyb.)

More colourful pictures of the Optikers in their Übungsbunker We, 'Die Optiker', are an amateur pop band from Hamburg, Germany. It all started during the 80s in the legendary Archies Omas Haus (also known as 'Guckelheim') in Jenfeld, the former weekend domicile of Archie's, Detlef's and Clemens' grandmother, where Archie provided a paradise oasis for many amateur bands and other creative people. Archie, Nasser, and former bass guitar player Thomas H. started to meet regularly to play some of their favourite bands' songs and also to compose their own songs. Later Detlef, Clemens and Dirk joined the group to give it more volume. When Thomas H. left Dirk took over playing the bass guitar. Legendary gigs on several friends' birthday parties and in Archies Omas Haus gave Hamburg lots of opportunities to listen to 'Die Optiker' during the beginning of the 90's. Towards the end of the last decade 'Die Optiker' had to take it more and more easy ("mussten kürzer treten"), and had less and less chances to meet. So, nowadays the band 'Die Optiker' is/are in fact retired.

On this page you can get an impression of our music and our former 'Übungsbunker' in Horn, that we used after Archies Omas Haus had been sold and torn down in 1993. You can browse more pictures, or you can listen to two songs from our latest (and only...) CD!

  • While you're here you might as well listen to DeGeele Bocks'song 'Erdnussflips' (mp3, 2 MB)! Although DeGeele Bocks is also from Hamburg, it is a completely different band, consisting of the rappers Gernot and Clemens. Also this legendary band is not active anymore (due to problems with their backs and some differences).
