May 4, 2000 Hamburg, Markthalle

Once again my best friend Schmörgel and I are going to Hamburg in order to have fun at another nice concert.
Shorty after having entered the small venue some crappy opening act with bandmembers looking like gothic freaks starts to play some sick and boring music. I do not even catch their name.
The lights go out and Incubus enter the stage starting off intensely with their latest album opener "Priviledge". After about half of the song I am exhausted already. And they continue with the tougher material such as "New Skin" and "A Certain Shade Of Green". It is hard to keep on "dancing" and breathing but I keep on trying. I need several restes during the set. The rest of the audience seems to really enjoy themselves as well as I do.
The sound is getting better and better and suddendly everything fits, it nearly sounds like on their latest record "Make Yourself". As a nice bonus the band plays a really old song from "Fungus Amongus" calles "You'll Be A Hot Dancer" which brings back my last burst of energy.
The whole concert was really great. I only have expected them to do "Drive" and "I Miss You" but who cares...
As I also haven't really known the band I am quite surprised by their performance as they don't seem to be posers like the other bands which they compared to. They appeared to be down-to-earth, young twens. They haven't even put on an intense show or extra light show. It's just all about the music which is really wonderful.

The setlist is incomplete and in no particular order:

Priviledge
New Skin
A Certain Shade Of Green
Stellar
Vitamin
The Warmth
Pardon Me
Redefine
Idiot Box
Nowhere Fast
Glass
When It Comes
Deep Inside
Summer Romance
Nebula
You'll Be A Hot Dancer
