Some of the Gold/Pioneer members arrived early and the clerks were not aware that we would be allowed to purchase Paparazzi that evening. The official launch date was Wednesday and this was Tuesday evening! Soon the situation was corrected and we began purchasing the watches. We were the first people allowed to purchase the watch.

On the way back to the hotel, a few of us noticed that The Supper Club was already transformed for the Paparazzi events for Wednesday. The Supper Club was only a few doors from Broadway and two blocks from The Time Hotel (where many of us were staying). Russ Bauer, Roy Porello, Tom Rolnicki, and Brian Pier had to investigate!

The marquee was blinking with Swatch Paparazzi signs and a large rendition of the Paparazzi watch case covered the entrance.

A funny story…While taking these photos,
we saw other people
enter the Supper Club. We decided to peek and we saw that they were
setting up
for the next day’s events. When we left, a Swatch employee stopped us
in front
of the club and attempted to take our bags with the Paparazzi Swatches
we
purchased at the store. He thought we had taken them from the club.
After he
understood that we had purchased the watches, he took us back in to
show us
that they had identical bags containing watches for the press in
another room.
His confusion was understandable and everything ended just fine.
