Here's a photograph from the outside.
First of all, let me state that the PPro is not my main machine. I have two others which are being used on a daily basis. You can find some details on them here. I bought the PPro machine in 1997 and it was my main computer for 2 years. Some upgrades have taken place over the years, also downgrades. For example, I moved the complete SCSI subsystem into my current high end machine, with internal ZIP drive, DVD-ROM drive and external scanner. This is the current system configuration:
| Mainboard | Gigabyte 686FX |
| Memory | 128MB EDO RAM (4*16MB, 2*32MB) |
| Cpu | Intel Pentium Pro 200 |
| HSF | stock, lapped |
| Graphics | S3 Virge DX |
| Sound | Sound Blaster (ISA) |
| Network | Linksys Ethernet PCI 10MB/s |
| Hdd | IBM 8GB 5400rpm |
| CD-ROM | Creative 16x |
| Casing | AT form factor |
| PSU | AT |
Currently I don't know what to do with the machine. I might give it to my parents for internet and office applications. I was trying to get hold of a Slot-1 board with AT form factor, preferably Asus P2B-B or P2-99B, since I have a P2 and some SDRAM lying around. However, I have given up, the market is empty. Anyway, here are some benchmarks for the PPro at 200MHz.
So much for now,
Martin
