Some Recent Official Publications Relating To Electoral Matters

This is a special extraction (compiled from my database as of 1.03.1996) listing only HMSO, OPCS and some Home Office publications for the period 1989-1995. Work on the bibliography is continuing, a preliminary update for Jan-Oct 1996 is now also provided.

Sources:

The main sources are the various bibliographical tools published by The Stationery Office (formerly HMSO), mainly its Daily List. This is supplemented by other catalogues & lists as well as information from ONS (formerly OPCS) and the Home Office.
Most items' bibliographic records listed here were prepared by myself through personal autopsy (marked as aut). This results in some discrepancies between my records and those produced by The Stationery Office/HMSO.

The entries are prepared (loosely) on the basis of the Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules (AACR2) and its German equivalent Regeln für die alphabetische Katalogisierung (RAK), but with many exceptions!

Arrangement:

The provisional classification is based on three facets and their various broad classes:
  1. Genre: General & Administration, Boundaries, 4th Periodical Reviews, Expenses, Guides, Statistics
  2. Country: Wales, England, England & Wales, Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Scotland, United Kingdom
  3. Publication type: PPs (Command, HCP, HLB), Bills (HCB, HLB), Statutory Instruments, Acts, Reports, etc.

The seven pages are sorted by Genre, then by Country and Type:
