Friendship We enjoyed both of you as friends in Nigeria and thank the Lord for that gift of friendship and the many hours we spent together. One thing we have both commented on about Gunnar was his "Sunday morning face." Somehow, he just came alive on Sundays, especially when he had to preach. His love for the Lord and passion for the coming of his Kingdom were reflected in his face. We also appreciated Gunnar very much as a theologian. This is especially true for the Hausa translation team. We are just finishing the incorporating of his comments on the book of Psalms. The translators often lament the fact that he will not be able to continue this service for us, because his comments are always so helpful and his reasons so well stated. We are thankful for the help he was able to give and that his legacy will live on in Bible translation through his input into the Hausa Common Language translation.
