CHAPTER I - the face - BASICS

when you´re beginning your lessons you might expect a face to be a difficult thing to start with. [well a really good looking face is quite difficult but this one isn´t too difficult to start with.

start drawing a circle and dividing it into 4 parts as shown on the left. the vertical line shows the nose and mouth line. the horizontal line is the line for your eyes. [later i erased them to show you a more detailed grafic]

now it´s neccessary to ad the second vertical line for your ears.

mention: a good drawer even minds the invisible parts of his/her charakter!

the second horizontal line displays the position of the charakters mouth.

then it´s time to add the outlines of the eyes, nose and mouth and to erase the unneccessary lines in your drawing [dotted here]

this could be the final image ouf your charakter [i just added some colour to it in gimp].

try to mind the shaddow for your head.
