Anik LaChev

European; coming from a diverse family of robber barons, silk merchants and sea traders (which, all combined, might explain my fondness for pirate movies). Next to an ongoing love affair with theatre and opera work, I studied Literature and Linguistics and some assorted Humanities. Since that didn't manage to scare me off as it should have, I ended up on a Ph.D. track and am now cursing the vanity that made me agree to this insanity in the first place – every time I sit there stuck on the same page for four weeks in a row. I should have stuck to plan B and opened an Italian coffee bar instead where all the personnel would have to wear boots.

I have been told that I am decent cook and an passable dancer and try to follow both of those passions when the Ivory Tower lets me out of its clutches.
Other pinstripes in the pattern of my life are the collection of boots and the art of wearing them (yes, that is an art form) as well as ties and the art of knotting them. In the unlikely happenstance of some spare time, you’d probably find me either sonnet writing or preparing some handmade pasta or doing a few extra training sessions towards the Swashbuckling Shoulder Award.
Most of the time though, you’ll find me over a computer or a sketchbook, an espresso macchiato at the side, working on a piece of theory or fiction while absently whistling Händel arias.

For my next life, I am planning on days with 30 hours each or on some supernatural powers. Until then, I am trying to make do with 24 and high quality caffeine, hoping to get more stories out to you for a long time to come.
