This is a crossover of TKR with the established KR universe from above, that is: my KR universe :) Take what you've read so far and then push it a few years into the future, after Michael and Kitt have fulfilled the contract Michael signed in Beyond Loyalty. Now add TKR, its birth story slightly altered but with essentially all the events, people and cars, and you might get an idea of what I'm working on. Yes, this is TKR and yes, this is the Kitt/Karr universe I created -- and they are all still there.... Let yourself be surprised.

"So you won't tell me who the victim of KRO's attack was, right?" He shook his head. "Why did I expect exactly that?"
Michael Knight smiled slightly. "I can't reveal his identity, Kyle. He is a contact and he works in the background, like me. I'll relate all information to you as usual, but right now I want you track down KRO, nothing else. I'll handle the search of who is behind it."
Kyle sighed deeply. "Why did I ever agree to this secrecy?" he muttered.
"Because I asked you to, Kyle."
He grimaced. "So, someone we have no idea about freed KRO, revived him and with him Jantzen, and he is now sending him out on missions, am I correct?"
Michael nodded.
"Michael, if we knew who or what he is after, we could predict where he appears."
He sighed. "Kyle, it's not that easy. KRO's target doesn't really fit any profile and even if I told you, you wouldn't a) believe me and b) get any further."
"Try me," the ex-agent said dryly.
Michael just smiled humorlessly. "Not at this point."
"Michael, please! Keeping secrets doesn't help this one bit!"
"Maybe you are right, but right now I can't reveal the name. Kyle, believe me, it won't help you or anyone else. Find KRO. You have the description, you have his profile, get to work on it. Whatever is going on behind the scenes is something I'll work on myself."
Kyle sighed angrily. "You are the boss."

Blame my proof-reader for this one :) Still a kind of crossover with TKR, but dealing mainly with something out of Nemesis. No, I won't tell more!
Michael looked at Jo, raising both eyebrows. "You could call it that, but I don't believe anyone would be interested in it. Jo, what happened to your project?"
All eyes turned on the scientist and she sighed.
"I took it with me," she answered. "It... is safe; maybe a bit rattled."
"Uh, what are we talking about here?" Duke wanted to know. "The mysterious backpack?"
"Michael, I need technical support," Jo addressed Knight, ignoring the others. "I need an outside feed or he might slip again. But I can't do it here!"
"Currently Sky One is the safest place there is for you," Michael answered slowly.
"I can't stay!"
"Excuse me, but what are we discussing here?" Kyle asked, looking first at Michael, then Jo.
"Dr. Campbell has been working on a special project for the last four months, involving the healing of an artificial intelligence created by Marland Industries and FLAG," Michael explained slowly. "Lately the project has had a lot of success."
"You have an AI in your backpack?" Trek exclaimed, eyes alight.
Jo nodded.
"Wow!"
"Not so 'wow' when you know who it is," she muttered.
"Michael, what is going on?" Kyle asked, voice edgy.

Nick was silent for a moment, then asked, "And the rest?" All humor was out of his voice.
Michael didn't say anything for a while, then sighed. "I'm not sure yet. Quinn told me some very disturbing things. I'll have Kitt transmit the data we have so far. He's still researching through old files to give me a better picture."
"Michael...." Nick said warningly. He hated it when his friend was so evasive.
A sigh. "Apparently this has something to do with the neuro implant development and experiment. Something gone horribly wrong through an unauthorized implantation and experimentation on a human being."
Nick felt his blood freeze. "Who?"

Jo leaned against the kitchen counter, frowning at the clean floor.
"Relax," Michael said. "They'll do just fine."
"I know how they are doing, Michael," she told him, almost like a patient mother would to a child.
He raised an eyebrow, smiling. "So, any complaints?"
"No. Kro's actually.... fascinated by him."
Michael played with an apple from the fruit bowl. "And you?"
Jo shot him a dark look, then shrugged. "He was your choice. I trust you know what you are doing."
He laughed. "Thank you for the vote of confidence, but really, Jo.... what's your first impression?"
"From the file? Well, he's a low-life criminal with a long record and I don't trust him."
"Jo...."
"Michael, he's a former thief and cat-burglar! What do you expect me to say? 'Oh, why, I love to room in with a convict, thank you! Yes, I love to trust Kro to him anytime!'." She sighed.
