Officer of Kalganian spaceport police at the time of Arkady Darell's flight to

Hardin, Salvor
First Mayor of Terminus, and owner of the Terminus City Journal. The training in
psychology which he received from Bor Alurin, though incomplete, was enough when
combined with his own insights into the growing vulnerability of Terminus in the
Periphery for him to become dissatisfied with the isolationist policies of the
Encyclopedia Trustees at a time when the Periphery was becoming increasingly
fragmented politically and economically. After siezing power in a bloodless
coup, Hardin steered the Foundation towards a measure of security through
playing the interests of the neighbouring Kingdoms against one another, and
enabled a smooth transition from pseudo-scientific backwater to a
fully-functioning society in its own right. (10-II,III)

central black hole from Trantor. Generally loyal to the Empire, and noted for
its martial arts, its main claim to fame during the Foundation era was as the

Cousin of Hinrik oth Hinriad, and uncle of Artemisia. His apparent role as an
effete dilletante belied a belief that the Tyranni had to be overthrown if the
economies of the Nebular Kingdoms were to catch up with those of their
neighbours, though he was unaware of his cousin Hinriks covert role as leader of
the Kingdoms' revolutionary movement. Inventor of the visisonor. (6-6 etc.)

Director of Rhodia. While giving every appearance of being the ineffectual
puppet of the Tyranni, he was leading a movement dedicated to the overthrow of
the Tyranni. (6-2 etc.)
Hiroko
Young woman of Alpha who met Golan Trevize's expedition on their arrival, and
who later revealed that she had infected Trevize with a fatal virus which would
be activated unless he and his companions left immediately. Also the name of
