Nepenthes singalana


Still young plant which likes to be grown in full sun. The lower left picture middle shows a newly opened pitcher which turns to deep red under full sun when it ages as it can be seen at the right picture. N. singalana seems to stay also quite small and will be another quite good terrarium plant.

Update 10.1.2004:
This plant is now about three years old and is still quite small. Pitchers are about 10cm in height and they turn to a nice red colour under good light levels. N. singalana is an easy grower under intermediate to higland conditions although it occurs at an altitude of 1900m - 2800m in habit.


This clone of N. singalana produces slightly different pitchers, which also darken much faster than from the clone pictured above.

Update 4.6.2005:

Also the adult pitchers of this clone look slightly different from the plant shown above.
