Orphitecktion was founded in 2004 by three architectural students of the Bauhaus Weimar University.
Its name derives from the fact that this group didnt have a supervisor assigned due to beaurocratic errors and hence was some kind of an orphan,
nevertheless Orphitecktion strived and some of its projects were on display in different art museums around germany and so wanted that one museum, namely the "Industriemuseum Chemnitz" actually stole the exhibits, no legal ramnifications were thought out by Orphitecktion finding it amusing at best.
Of the three founders of Orphitecktion only Jan Wetzel remains active after Akin Ugurlu returned to Istanbul and Helena returned to Norway.
