Removes all decoration from around a UUID, returning it stripped

Note: this method removes all decorations from around a uuid, if its braces, prefixes, suffixes or whatever. The method is *very* tolerant, eating anything as long as 8-4-4-4-12[a-f0-9]' s are contained in the string
