Summary:
During a subway ride home at dawn a 17 year-old girl recalls all
that led to a night best forgotten. Gradually, inexplicably, in
recalling dispiriting memories of exclusion and betrayal, she imagines
a future where she can be "an independent force," strong,
confident and free.
Debut Ohioan Mollie Jones, studied Art History and Philosophy at
Columbia University. After graduation, she spent a year in Poland
during which she studied in Krakow and worked as an assistant costumer
on Steven Spielberg's Schindler's List and in the Warsaw division
of McCann-Erickson Ad Agency. She returned to the US to study filmmaking
at USC (MFA) where she finished Debutante as a "tribute to
teenage girls". Selma Blair's (Nan) television and screen career
has exploded since staring in Debutante with Cruel Intentions (Columbia
Pictures), Down To You (Miramax) and the Warner Brother Network's
Zoe on Zoe Duncan Jack & Jane..
