Based Upon: This is an English-language remake of the 1996 French thriller, L'Appartement, which won Best Foreign film awards from both the British Academy Awards and the British Independent Film Awards. Formerly listed as The Apartment, the new title is Wicker Park. Premise: This "Hitchcockian" thriller tells the story of a young New York investment banker (Hartnett) who becomes obsessed with a woman he sees in a cafe, believing her to be his long-lost love, following her home to her apartment, where he waits for her, going so far as to put his engagement on hold. His search soon sends him down a dangerous path...

Filming: Production had been scheduled to start in Montreal on January 4th, 2002 (with some location shooting in New York City) but that didn't happen, rescheduled several months later for October, 2002.
