So today I received a package in the mail, my order from Bol.com... and as I ripped open the envelope, and tore off the packaging, it was the moment. the moment when all the memories of and surrounding the book I held in my hands, when a great big grin broke on my face and the moment where I laughed and told Shinta (in a
very excited tone) of what made the book I was holding so utterly and completely special.
And what great epic might that be, you may ask? (and you most certainly may.)
One of my favorite books of all time, if not
the best book(s) i've ever read:
The World of Pooh
containing:
Winnie-The-Pooh
The House at Pooh Corner
truly I encourage anyone and everyone to read these books. (or book, if you get the single hardcover version) You might write it off as a mere children's book, but don't ever forget that we'll always have that child in us. As someone had said it before:
"If you have children in your house, you really should have this book on your shelves; if you don’t have children, well, "The World of Pooh" will make up for it."
The content of these pages have given me so much enjoyment, and not only does it provide laughs, it may even start the welling up of tears in your eyes as the characters prepare to say goodbye.
Forget the Disneyfied images of Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger, and the rest of the cast. The original line drawings by E.H. Shepard illustrates the world of Pooh at it's finest. the simple, rough, sketch-like drawings hold so much...
story in them... making the characters so much more endearing than they already are.
OK. I know I just turned 24, and maybe you think this whole Pooh thing might be a side effect from fear-of-turning-old, but I assure you, I speak from the bottom of my heart when I say: You will love this book.
One thing you won't get out of this would be Proper Spelling and Grammatification of Sentenses.
If you read the books then you'll see what I mean. enjoi!
