It were up to 540 POW in Kingston under British responsibility. Probably they were members of the merchant marine and got as civilian internees the statuses of the prisoner of war later. The supply of the prisoners was problematic and was supported by a private American help organization. End 1946 till beginning of 1947 they got repatriated.
