Youth Workshops

Workshops for children/youth with some previous experience.

Previous training and/or experience would include blocking and acceptance, spontaneity skills, rudimentary understanding of status, and basic story telling skills.

This workshop will cover:

1st Half

  • Advanced 2 person scene dynamics
  • Story telling skills with particular focus on character archetypes inside stories

2nd Half

  • Musical improv skills
  • Instant song creation

Duration: 2 or 3 hours

Attendees: 15 to 20 – grade 10 to 12

This workshop is helpful for student actors but also emphases learning through play helping to develop mental nimbleness, self-confidence, creativity, and self worth.

Workshops for children/youth with little or no previous experience.

The workshop will cover:

1st Half

  • Blocking and Acceptance
  • Spontaneity
  • Status

2nd Half

  • Storytelling

Duration: 2 or 3 hours

Attendees: 15 to 20 – depending upon age

Taking improv workshops helps exercise your brain in different directions. Improv skills help us consciously identify the 3 ways of thinking (instinctive, intuitive and intellectual) and how best to use them. This results in mental nimbleness, an increase in self-confidence, creativity and self-worth.

Taster sessions

Suitable for children/youth with no experience. Sessions are 1 hour long and include an overview of the basic workshop, with the main focus on yes and skills, acceptance and eliminating blocking.
