What's with these *.icl files?
For ease of use, I compiled the icons into icon libraries (*.icl), so the single icons
don't clutter up your HD. To see them, select "All files" when choosing a new
icon.

- how do I set my icon size to 64x64 or 80x80?
The Plus pack and most other programs only let you choose 48x48, which is still
not that good... One program that can set the icon size to 64x64 is AxIcons 4.0 and 4.5.
Even without such programs, you can still change the icon size by editing the registry. If
you don't want to mess with the registry, then d/l my patch above which sets your icon
size to 64x64, as well as enabling icons with more than 16 colors.
There is currently no program which lets you set the icon size to 80x80. However, you can
still set it by editing the registry. Just d/l the right registry patch from above and
apply it, it will set your icon size to 80x80 as well as enabling high color icons.
How can I display icons with more than 16 colors?
First of all, you need a desktop resolution of at least 16bit (High Color) or
better 24bit (True color), regardless if the icons are True Color or 256 colors - even
with the latter, each icon has its own palette, so they won't display properly at 256
color depth. Then, if you have the Plus Pack, simply check "Display icons using all
possible colors". Also a lot of other programs let you enable this - otherwise, you
can only do it by editing the registry. If you don't want to do that, d/l my patch above
which does this for you.
Why are your icons True Color and not 256 colors?
As I've said above, you need High - or True Color anyway to display icons with
more than 16 colors, so doing icons with only 256 colors is pretty much senseless...
Besides, doing icons in True Color not only allows for more details and better image
quality, but also you don't have any problems with the transparent color anymore which can
give unpredictable results with some 256 color icons.
How can I view the icons in the Icon libraries in full
size?
Windows' icon change dialog only allows you to see the icon library contents in
32x32, which is especially with big icons not a good representation. To see the library
contents at full size, you can use a freeware tool called Icon Shop. For your convenience,
you can get it here. It can also convert Macintosh icons,
should you ever need that.
