| Blood-the mysterious substance of
life, no life without blood weather you are a mortal human or a immortal
vampire. Every culture has her blood-rituals: contracts are signed with blood, your heart is bleeding, when your beloved is gone, blood-guiltiness, blood-revenge, blood-rituals, blood-sacrifice, blood-brotherhood. But the most mysterious bleeding is the female menstruation. Males are frightened by this periodic bleeding. In many cultures a menstruating woman is meant to be impure. This might be a male archetypical anxiety of the Great Mother, who can give and take life. Blood plays a certain role in many religions, even the christian have their own spiritualized blood-cult: the Eucharist transforms wine and bread into blood and body of Jesus Christ. Think of the legend of the Holy Grail. The Grail is the vessel in which the blood of the Saviour is kept to feed the paladines of the Grail and to cause miracles. Blood is meant to be the substance of soul. Today in this rational, scientific time, blood has become a medical substance. People are talking abour their blood-groups and blood-values.Blood-samples are used for medical diagnostic. But for us vampires the greediness of blood is the basic motivation of our eternal existence. Blood means not only nourishment, blood means lust and ecstasy. Our well developed senses hear the silent heartbeat, the gentle puls of the carotid artery, smell the different blood-groups and taste every little shade and individuality in the blood of our victims. When we drink the blood, we drink the soul, the experience, the biography of our victim. For a little moment the victim`s soul is within our own soul. For a while we have all her abilities. This is the reason why artists are so desirable. Drink the blood of a violine-virtuoso and for one hour or two you can play the violine as masterly as your food did before. Every vampire has his own taste, some prefer special blood-groups, others are specialized on the freshness of children blood or the natural vitality of animal blood. I myself prefer the blood of creative, cultivated people. We vampire need blood not only to keep our bodies alive but also to inspire our tired souls, to give us new impules in our eternal existence. Some vampires are passionate hunters, others are tired of the nightly hunt and are glad about the modern blood-banks and blood-trade. In the vampire-society blood is traded like excellent wines. |
