Seti2HTML (V1.0) Seti2HTML is an extension to Oliver Scheit's cool caching and monitoring tool SetiHide (http://www.setihide.de). Seti2HTML will only work with SetiHide 1.5.2.0 or greater. Contents: Part 1: Installation Part 2: Settings Part 3: History Part 4: Known Issues Part 1: Installation In the .zip file you can find the following files seti2html_readme.txt this file seti2html.exe seti2html executable files\seti_template.html main html template files\tmptable.html table template files\progress.gif image for the progress bars Copy the seti2html.exe to the same directory as SetiHide.exe. This will, in most cases, be your Seti@home directory (i.e. :\program files\seti@home\). Copy the rest of the files into the files sub-directory (i.e. :\program files\seti@home\files\) Start the seti2html.exe. That's it! Please note: By default, the output file (seti.html) as well as the progress.gif will be generated in the program directory. Part 2: Settings The "Settings" screen allows you to set the local output path for your html file as well as an FTP auto upload server/path. The settings there are pretty self explaining, but here are a couple of examples: If you want to store your html file locally to the directory "c:\my_local_web_page\seti", just enter the path into the "Local HTML Output Directory". By clicking on the same ine you can browse down to the desired directory as well. To upload the html file to "ftp://ftp.my_web_provider.com/my_directory/seti/seti.html" enter the following: FTP Server address: ftp.my_web_provider.com FTP Server directory + filename: my_directory/seti.html FTP User: Your FTP account name Password: Your FTP password The "Update Interval" defines the time interval for seti2html to check for changes with SetiHide. The "FTP Upload Interval" defines a multiplicator to the "Update Interval" Setting. Example: Update Interval: 60 FTP Upload Interval: 30 This settings would update your local output every 60 seconds. The FTP upload would take place every 30 minutes (30 * 60 sec). If you don't use local and FTP output at the same time, just leave the FTP upload interval at 1. The reason why I splitted the actual update interval and the ftp interval was, that if you have a dial-up connection, you may not want seti2html to connect to the internet every 60 seconds or so. With the multiplicator you can have your local ouput updated every 30 seconds and your FTP upload only every half an hour. You may change the seti_template.html to match your web page design without problems. If you want to change the tmptable.html file as well, be careful; this file is only a html fragment, and a lot of HTML editors add headers and stuff to this file. Part 3: History No history yet. Please let me know if you find any bugs. Part 4: Known Issues I haven't tested the app with Multi Processor Machines yet. As far as I can say, it should work. If you run this program in a Multi Processor environment I would be glad if you could share your experiences with me! The program was only tested in Networked environments (with both, local and network cache). As with the Multi Processor stuff: I believe the program should work in local-only environments as well, but I haven't tested it yet. Please let my know if you run the program in a local-only environment... That's it for now! Have fun! Alex Kurz http://control.doesntexist.com
