Well
you probably ask yourself "Why Uganda?" So we
give you a simple answer "Why not Uganda?". But
it's never good to rely on simple answers :-)) so therefore
we would like to share our experience on Uganda with you
and maybe by reading and seeing you will find your own answers
on the question
CheetahsWorld
has
therefore decided to provide you with alot more and detailled
information on Uganda and wants to keep you updated regularly.
This should be a platform to learn more about the beautiful
country Uganda.
We want to provide you with information on
Kampala and Jinja, but also the very
west of Uganda, with cities like Fort
Portal and Kasese as well as places like Mweya
Lodge in Queen Elizabeth Nationalpark, situated
very near to Congo.
Coming to Uganda is pretty easy...by plane! You can reach
Entebbe, the international airport of Uganda through a direct
flight from London or through Kenia. Entebbe is about 30
minutes away from the capital Kampala. If you arrive in
Uganda during daytime you will be impressed not only by
the beautiful green vegetation, but first of all by Lake
Victoria, the biggest lake in Africa.
One of the most important reasons why we would like to draw
you attention to Uganda is the hospitality of the Ugandan
people. They are very friendly and open to visitors. We
would like to let you see the country through "mzungu"
(white one) eyes and bring you near that Uganda is not equal
to Idi Amin. The history needs to be reflected in the present
to learn for the future! Therefore we will give you a short
overview of the history
of Uganda, this on a political, traditional
and cultural level. You can see how varied
Uganda is by finding out more about Ugandan people,
languages,
clothes
and of course - love goes through the stomach - food!
Uganda's neighboring countries are Congo (in the West),
Sudan (in the North), Kenia (in the East) as well as Rwanda
and Tanzania (in the South). This gives you a good overview
on the geographical situation of Uganda. But here you can
learn much more on the country
itself (don't miss the beautiful video brought to you by
Adventuretv.com
in this section)
together with a journey through the breathtaking
wild life scene Ugandas ranging from
animals like the Ugandan kob, hippos, elephants and of course
mountain gorillas. But not only the countrylife with comfortable
lodges is worth to be explored. Cities
like Kampala, Jinja, Fort Portal or Entebbe give you all
you need to fill the heart of city boys & girls with
joy! Let us take you on a stunning journey through leisure
and going out
facilities of Uganda.
"Music
is the key"
- you will be
surprised about Ugandas music scene, ranging from traditional
music with flutes and drums, over gospel music straight
to hip-hop and RAP! Check out the different styles and artists
Uganda has to offer.
We
would like to build a bridge of friendship between Austria
and Uganda and the best example for this is definitely the
Austrian-Ugandan-Club
in Kasese. The team of CheetahsWorld was pretty surprised
to find this lodge suddenly at their way back from Queen
Elizabeth Nationalpark. Beside of this we would also like
to introduce you to some of the most important organisations
in Austria regarding Africa.
On
our journeys we took alot of pictures which we would like
to share with you as well, so please have a look at our
picture
gallery. Of course there is still alot more
of information than we could offer on one single website.
So please check out the link-site
which is being updated on a regular basis. We would be glad
if you could let us have links we have not found so far,
so that wecan update the link-list.
