Fort Portal is the capital of the Tooro Kingdom and a major town in Kabarole District. It is situated at Mount Rwenzori, which is one of three nationalparks in this area.

Fort Portal is a nice small town with a very refreshing climate. The temperature is much cooler than in Kampala. That's also the reason why Fort Portal is often called "the Switzerland of Africa".
