For
those of you who prefer to DO something instead of just watching
or hearing something, Uganda will push you to your limits.
The variety of nature or sportive activities will keep you
active like you've never been before.
Uganda
does not only have the most beautiful mountains like the Rwenzori
Mountains with snow covered peaks, but also a beautiful beachside
as well as the river Nile providing you activities ranging
from mountaineering and trekking to rafting, swimming or land-based
games like golf or bowling. You see - there's something for
every taste.
Especially
the nationalpark of the Rwenzori Mountains (or
Mountains of the Moon) invite for mountain climbing or hiking.
They lie along the western border of Uganda, on the border
with the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The highest peak
is called Margherita and lies on an altitude
of 5.109 m. The mist-covered Mountains of the Moon are 120
km in length and 48 km in width and at the centre of
the range, there are six peaks carrying permanent snow, three
with glaciers.

The
main attractions of this beautiful mountainous nationalpark
are chimpanzee, blue monkey, rwenzori colobus, hyrax or even
leopards and elephants.
Fort
Portal or Kasese are the nearest towns
to the Rwenzori Mountains, therefore a range of inns, guesthouses
and camping sites are suggested for accomodation. Don't miss
the Rwenzori View Guesthouse in Fort Portal with a beautiful
views of the mountains. Huts and rock shelters are available
on the mountains for climbers. Kamungha Guest House is located
in Kazingo Trading Centre approx 12.5 km from Fort Portal,
on the foothills of the National Park.

But
some people prefer water instead of mountains - also for those
of you who wants to enjoy rafting, boating or canoing have
lot's of possibilities to enjoy themselves. Please don't miss

also recommand a trip to Jinja, a beautiful
town in the east of Kampala. It is not only a place for the
rich and the famous in Uganda, but also the best place to
check out the source of the river Nile. Here
you can relax in beautful lodges and watch breathtaking waterfalls,
if not even test your hunger for adventure when rafting down
the river Nile. Bujangali Falls offer you the
best place for white water rafting.
Those
of you who prefer to be active on solid ground and enjoy playing
a round of golf, can enjoy this sport at one of the challenging
courses and golf clubs of Uganda. They can be found in Kampala
(18 holes), Jinja, Tororo, Mbale, Fort Portal, Kasese or Entebbe.
The Kampala Golf Club is just a 2 minute walk away from Fairway
Hotel.
Another
big fun of entertainment is certainly bowling which can be
followed at Allegators, the 1st and only bowling alley in
Uganda which can be found at the Garden City Complex, where
cineplex and Woolworth can also be found.
Exploring
a country means to get in touch with the country and the people
- therefore check out the hottest new places around Kampala,
Jinja or Mbarara. Get in contact with Ugandans and you will

The Entebbe Botanical Gardens were established in 1898 and
are situated on the nothern shores of Lake Victoria
virtually on the equator. They house a collection of species
of plants of the different tropical zones. The entrance is
close to the Botanical Beach Hotel and the offer the great
opportunity to watch birds of all types and colors. You'll
be fascinated about the melody of all the colorful big and
small birds you can enjoy at these beautiful gardens.
