Mweya
Lodge is a very beautiful place in Queen Elizabeth Nationalpark.
The park headquarter is 64km from Kasese, which is 418km from
Kampala via Mbarara and Kafunguru. The journey takes approximately
8 hours. From Fort Portal it's about 3 hours. A favourite
way to view the game is by a launch trip on the Kazinga Channel
between Lake George and Lake Edward. The Mweya Safari Lodge
is a beautiful hotel in the middle of the park. Therefore
you should take the sign at the entrance seriously!
Staying
in the middle of wildness but with a luxurious touch - that's
a lifestyle.
The
Queen Elizabeth Nationalpark is the home of the famous tree-climbing
lion as well as the Uganda Kob, other antelope species, elephant,
baboons, hippos, buffalo and chimpanzees. There are several
hundreds of different types of birds. In the hotel itself
they even come near to the people, as you can see on the picture.
In the crater lakes to the north, flocks of flamingoes can
be found.

Mweya
Lodge is situated at Lake Edward and Lake Georg. If you like
you can make a trip with the boat trough the Kazinga channel.
From there you can watch a lot of hippopotamuses as well as
other animals on the riverside.
On
this picture you can see the "typical image" of
Africa. In fact it is an exception for Uganda
to find such steppe-environment. Actually Uganda is more famous
for its green vegetation and forests.

The hotel is very luxurious. There is a nice
swimmingpool and the meals are varied. You can choose if you
like European styled food or African styled food. From the
terace you can watch both lakes and you can enjoy the small
and colorful birds that will visit your table.
Mweya
Safari Lodge built on a peninsular and almost surrounded by
water has stunning views of this magnificent panorama. A luxury
lodge in the old style with a restaurant, bar, a terrace,
suit bedrooms, conference theatre and swimming pool. The bedrooms
are self contained with such comfort that one could ever need!
The lodge is located in the prime area for the parks
attraction; it is the door gate for the entire of Queen Elizabeth
National Park.
Everything
inside of Mweya Lodge is made very nicely. Of course you have
western style, but nevertheless you feel that you are in Africa
because of the nice furniture, the crafts and last but not
least because of the breathtaking nature.
