The publication is an account of a walking tour in southern France in early summer of 2000 in company of the donkey Clayde. The adventures of the journey and the relation to the amiably donkey are forming the core of the text. Nevertheless the book is filled with knowledge about the fascinating animal. Reference is made to the popular travelling account of Robert Louis Stebenson, who walked with his donkey Modestine through the Cevennes almost 130 years ago.
Volume I contains the travel description and Volume II includes 16 excellent color plates and a poem. A film of 60 minutes length is accompanying the publication.
