Inspired by the writings of Carl von Linnè Frank Lüsing and Oliver Kochta travelled in Finland in 1996. When Linné visited Lappland 264 years earlier, his order was to record every possible information; so he was interested in the greatest variety of things: people and their habits, living standards, games, songs, tools, hunting methods, health, landscapes, minerals and plants. Linnè wrote his iterinary in the way, as everything would be totally new for other people. With the same attitude we developed a hybrid form for our travel book which mixes facts and fiction, education and entertainment and our individual experience of travelling far north with Linné's stories.
The book was published under the name of Nerwander. This gave us the possibility not only to blend our individual experiences but also to give our traveller a certain character. O.F. Nerwander is a scholar of the old tradition, a lonely traveller with enourmous personal problems and a slight touch to romanticism.
