Comprehension and comment

Hallo an alle, ich bitte um Durchsicht meiner Ausführungen, da ich mir hier sehr unsicher bin. Dank im Voraus. Gruß, Boudicca :) Part A: Comprehension Please answer in complete sentences. 1. Write your own definition of the concept of timeshare. 2. What is the connection between a famous 18th-century novelist and the concept of timeshare? 3. What can affect the individual cost of timeshare? 4. Why does the cost of timeshare property not end with its purchase? 5. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this kind of holiday? 6. How does the Hapimag scheme differ from other timeshare concepts? 1. Timeshare is a form of vacation property ownership. With timeshare, the use and costs of running the resort are shared among the owners. The exchange schemes are operated for almost all developments. This enables owners to swap their weeks for equivalent ones all over the world. If you choose timeshare you are firmly bound from 25 years until perpetuity. It isn’t cheap and therefore only for rich people. 2. The connection between a famous 18th-century novelist and the concept of timeshare is that the novelist and the timeshare owner are living both in pure luxury. But the difference is that the novelist has a mansion with a leisure centre with swimming pools, snooker room, squash courts and a gymnasium and the timeshare-owner has to pay for every extra-appointment. 3. The individual cost of timeshare can affect by the size of the residence, appointments, the season – low season is less expensive than high season – and also by discounted flights and car hire which are offered as part of the exchange service. 4. The cost of a timeshare property doesn’t end with its purchase because you have to pay the final cleaning of the residence. 5. The advantage of this kind of holiday is that you can choose from a lot of holiday destinations whenever you want to take a vacation – only for you or with your family. But the big, probably the biggest disadvantages are that timeshare isn’t cheap and you have to firm a contract for a long period. 6. The Hapimag scheme differs from other timeshare concepts because there is no "ownership" of a particular week. The shareholders own the company’s assets, including 2,300 apartments in 41 holiday destinations, and qualify for weeks on a point system according to the value of their investment. Comment: Write about your favourite leisure activity. mention the following: the reason(s) you like it, the positive / negative aspects of this activity and any interesting experiences you have had whilst doing this activity. My favourite leisure activity is horse-riding. I like horse-riding because horse-riding is a hobby that is healthy, funny and interesting: Healthy because you stay many time outdoor with fresh air; funny because you get to know a lot of friends with the same interests; interesting because you have to learn, learning about breeds of horses, variant horse’s characters, poisonous plants etc.. Moreover horse-riding is very versatile: from dressage and show jumping to Western riding and much more. I love horses and also the nature; horse-riding combines both. At the age of three I was announced in a "Pony-Kindergarten". A "Pony-Kindergarten" is a little riding school where the riding instructors teach the responsible contact with horses playfully. My love for horses began. My favourite pony was a small white Shetland pony called Laila. I still remember a fancy-dress party on horse’s back. I was dressed like an angel as well as Laila – all in white. I have led Laila on bridle and stumbled unfortunately in a big puddle. I was over and over with mud and so sad because of my white costume. Later I changed the riding school and I got schooling. From time to time I started on some challenges and sometimes I won first place. It was so amusing but also hard work. I didn’t come out of the riding stable any more. Whenever I could I spent my time on a horse’s back. Every weekend and every holiday were spent at the stables. I helped several owners with their horses: riding and feeding them, mucking out the horseboxes and a lot more. There was always something to do and I did it with much fun. Always I have wished an own pony but my parents never wanted to buy one for me. They told me that a pony is very expensive and it needs so much time and responsibility. Now I understand them but it is still my big wish to have an own horse. I don’t know any negative aspect of horse-riding except for the costs. If you want to have an own horse it is much more expensive and another negative aspect will be added: the time. Since I live in Valencia I don’t have the possibility to ride but I still hope that I could afford an own horse in my future. I miss horses and I couldn’t live without them forever.
