Fauvel AV 36 - a flying wing constructed by Fauvel. AV means "Ail Volante" the french expression for flying wing.

Designed by Charles Fauvel, this light wooden plane
with an unswept wing had very good flight chracteris-
tics. So it was popular in its role as a school
glider. But also for cross country, aerobatic and training.

This AV36 was build in 1957 in Nabern/Teck Germany.

Before it came to germany the glider flew in Le Blanc / France. It came there after some years in the UK. It left Germany in 1982 to the UK. There it was operated by an association which keep vintage gliders alive.

My first flight was not horrible but I had a lot of adrenalin in the blood. Everything worked fine and I was surprised, that it is so easy to fly a flying wing.
