Welcome to the Washtenaw County (MI) Emigration Project
Already in the early stage of my research I have received evidence that Washtenaw Co. and Ann Arbor had been another center of settlement of emigrants from my hometown area beside Williams and Crawford Co. in Ohio. So it's no very surprising that Tuebingen is the sister city of Ann Arbor.
So far only few of the potential emigrants like- Johann Martin Grauer (*1804 in Maehringen)
- Anna Maria Kern (*1862 in Kusterdingen)
- Christian Kern (*1854 in Kusterdingen)
- Elisabeth Kern (*1846 in Kusterdingen)
- Friedrich Kern (*1850 in Kusterdingen)
- Jacob Kern (*1849 in Kusterdingen)
- Johann Georg Kern (*1802 in Kusterdingen)
- Johann Martin Kern (*1847 in Kusterdingen)
- Johannes Kern (*1858 in Kusterdingen)
- Johannes Schettler (*1820 in Wankheim)
So if you have a German heritage from the former Kingdom of Wuerttemberg and the names Bauer, Braun (Brown), Grauer, Hilber, Kern, Schettler (Shetler), Walz or Walker are part of your ancestor chart you may find them in the following listing. With either the RIN no. or the names of your grandfather or grandmother I will try to match your data with my database. In case of a match I will be happy to provide additional information about your German roots and family relationships.
