World Premiere of All The King's Men at the Toronto Film Festival:
There
were mixed feelings about Steve Zaillian's film All The King's Men,
but in one thing all the critics had the same opinion: The wonderful
performances of Sean Penn and the other actors like Kate Winslet,
Jude Law, Anthony Hopkins and Mark Ruffalo.

Read
about the press conference here:
Director-writer
Steve Zaillian:
"I read it as a great story, a classic story, and really the
'49 movie was the only liability that I felt because I knew that at
some point, I'd be asked this question down the road," Zaillian
says. "I just tried to ignore it, and just go with how I felt
when I read the book which was, it was a humbling piece of writing,
some of the best writing that we have in America. I just went with
my instincts."
Sean
Penn:
"I'm real proud of this movie. I think everybody did a
really great job telling this story."

14, 2006 - Chris
Penn - End of speculation |
Sean
Penn's brother, actor Chris Penn, died accidentally from an enlarged heart
and the effects of a combination of various medications, according to
autopsy and toxicology tests. The Los Angeles coroners office released a
statement late Monday, confirming the reasons behind the shock death of
Chris Penn in his Santa Monica, California, apartment on January 24. The
tests labeled the primary causes of death as nonspecific cardiomyopathy
(an oversized heart) with the 'effects of multiple medication intake'
Chief coroner investigator Craig Harvey says: 'There is absolutely no
indication that this is anything but an accident. We know he had several
prescriptions, including promethazine with codeine, which featured
predominantly in his death. We don't know how much he ingested or when.
There are a lot of what ifs to be factored in'.
