"Bentham's 'Panopticon' - visibility is a trap. Foucault - Savagery is necessary. Is revenge justified? Nothing in common with Manson or Dahmer cult and its current fashionability. There is no glory in innocent death. Death/Murder/Redemption part of the human condition." (Richey James; THB Tourbook)
"That was the song that me and Richey worried about the most, and did
the most work on. It was written as a reaction to the glorification of
serial killers. In 'Silence of the Lambs', Hannibal Lecter is made in
to a hero in the last scene of the film - people feel sorry for them.
It's like that line from Therapy? 'Now I Know How Jeffrey Dahmer Feels'
('Trigger Inside' - Troublegum). I don't fucking want to know how
Jeffrey Dahmer feels, and I think it's quite appalling to put yourself
in that position. Everyone gets a self-destructive urge the urge to
kill, but I don't particularly like the glorification of it. There's a
book by Marcel Foucault with a chapter called 'Archives Of Pain'.
Richey and I did that book at university, and it had quite an
influence on us. It talks about the punishment matching the crime.
But the song isn't a right-wing statement, it's just against this
fascination with people who kill. A lot of people don't like to see
rapists getting off with a £25 fine. |

DAHMER, JEFFREY
Serial killerThe Milwaukee chocolate factory worker lured gay, black men to his apartment with the promise of sex and drugs, and instead killed them and had them for dinner. Once his victims were dead, Dahmer came to life. He would have sex with the corpses and was conscientious to always wear a condom. Sex with live beings was not as good because they could get up and leave at any moment. He also enjoyed mutilation, and experimented with different ways of disposing of the bodies. When captured, police found three dissolving bodies in 55-gallon acid vats in his bedroom. They also found four severed heads, seven skulls, skeletons in his closet and a penis in a lobster pot. Ironically, Dahmer had no food in the fridge, only condiments. In the freezer he had a heart stashed "to eat later." Dahmer was killed when he was viciously attacked by Christopher Scarver, a convicted killer on antipsychotic medication, while mopping the bathroom floor in a maximum security prison. Dahmer's brain (at his mother's request) was preserved in formaldehyde for future study.

IRELAND, COLIN
Serial killer - killed 5 peopleKnown in London as the "Gay Slayer", Colin strived to be known as a serial killer. For this purpose he strangled five homosexual men. Robert Ressler states in "However Fights Monsters" that one has to commit five murders to become a serial killer. Colin read the book and used it as a manual. He meticulously planned each murder as he set out to become a famous serial killer. He chose gay sado-masochistic men because they were willing to get tied up. Also, he believed that the public would feel less sympathy for them. Before his arrest he taunted the cops with rambling calls claiming responsibility for the murders and threatening to keep striking once a week. He even stated "I have got the book, I know how many you have to do..."

MILOSEVIC, SLOBODAN
(1941- ); Former Yugoslav-Serbian political leader.
He held posts in the Communist party and state enterprises from the early 1960s, becoming party leader in Belgrade in 1984 and Serbia by 1987. Initially opposed to liberalization, he was elected (1989) president of Serbia and transformed the Serbian Communist party into the nationalistic Socialist party. He called for the inclusion of Serb areas in other republics in a greater Serbia as the price for Yugoslavia's dissolution and supported Serbian militias in Croatia and Bosnia Hercegovina. In 1992 he was reelected amid accusations of fraud. Milosevi de-emphasized Serb nationalism as war and international sanctions took their toll on Yugoslavia, and in 1995 he signed the treaty ending the Bosnian civil war. He became president of the new Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, consisting of Serbia and Montenegro, in 1997. Ethnic violence and unrest continued in 1997 and 1998 in the predominantly Albanian province of Kosovo. Lost the first free elections in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia against Vojislac Kostunica in October 2000.

| NIELSON, DENIS
Serial killer - killed 12/13 people Serial killer, 'the British Jeffrey Dahmer'. This alcoholic homosexual could not come to grips with life in the closet and resorted to murder and necrophilia. He would lure young homeless men to his apartment, render them unconscious with liquor and strangle them to death to the sound of the London Symphonic Orchestra's 'Classic Rock' recordings. He liked to stash their bodies under the floor boards and in cupboards. Occasionally he would take one out, bathe and dress it, and pretend to have a date. He would lay the corpse next to him in bed and masturbate. Then, return it to the floor boards. Like Dahmer, he killed out of loneliness. He enjoyed small talk with his friends the cadavers. He kept an assortment of body parts around the house as company and sometimes even left them in plain view when he went out to work. Nielson killed 12 or 13 men over 4 years, and destroyed their bodies in a series of large bonfires in his garden. However, when he was forced to move to a new apartment with no garden he had to improvise new ways to dispose of "his friends." In 1983 he was discovered when he tried to flush human remains down the toilet, and clogged the plumbing. The neighbours complained about the blocked drains, and caught him trying to clear them at midnight. When the Police searched his top floor apartment, they discovered body parts of 3 men, who Nielson had dismembered using his army butchery skills.
