Locations of campgrounds and overnight parking spots for motorhomes/RVs
The following lists contain geographical
coordinates and information about RV parking and campgrounds, and the
services available, from dry camping (boondocking) to full hookups.
This information may also be accessed on the internet at
womo-sp.org
The data was gathered from a number of
sources, including friends, acquaintances and from personal
experience, as well as from the internet. Actually more than 10'000
spots are listed. Before going on tour it might be a good idea

Countries listed:

Italy,

Hungaria.
All national lists joined to one overall European list:
More information will be added as it becomes available.
The lists are in plain ASCII title format, thus accessible with any simple text editor (e.g. Wordpad or Notepad)For automatic conversion into other formats, data may be saved, after conversion, in plain ASCII (no HTML or *.doc). If you convert these files into a format digestible for TomTom, an OVERLAY file can be generated with PoiEdit. (PoiEdit can be downloaded at dnote free of charge, but the author requests a donation).
Another useful conversion tool
is:
POIConverter
(R.J.Davies, gpsutilities-software@yahoo.co.uk
)
(For different data presentation for other systems a different
conversion would be required). Additionally you'd need an ICON
like this.
File structur
The listings in the files are substructured in the following order
longitude,
latitude, "information and services"
longitude
and latitude are written in decimal notation (DOT for decimal
!).Negative longitude represents locations west of Greenwich.
Negative latitude would represents locations in
the southern hemisphere.
The text about "information and
services" is (usually) hierarchically substructure in
descending order from (geographically) general/rougher info towards
more detailed info in the form:
province, county, zip(-prefix)
CITY, AREA
street address,
further Infos, number of parking bays,
[equipment, features, fees]The CITY should be noted in capital letters for better distinction. If address/location is uncertain a short routing advice can be mentioned. Uncertain coordinates may be indicated by a question mark > ?[ < if the geographical deviation may be larger than 200m. Your correction feedback is here particularly in demand. Opposed to that an exclamation mark > ![ < is a signal for the fact that this entry was verified and the coordinates will be correct likely. In case no exact coordinate could be determined but the position is most likely very close to the exact destination (or within the same street) a dot is mentioned here > .[ < .
The notation of the aire's equipment is displayed in abbreviations:
N overNight parking (only), overNight stay,
VE freshwater and dumping at extra charge,

Limitations
Fees, availability and accessibility often vary depending upon season. Some listed camping sites (CP) are usable outside of the season as parking bays (SP) at reduced costs and reduced service. "free-of-charge" (overnight) parking with restaurants are usually bound at consumption. Among other things also SPcan be listed, which have temporarily or seasonally a barrier for motor caravans. Many places have a delimitation of the period spent ( <**h ).
No statement about the quality and availability (e.g. size of the plant) is given.
The data records may be taken over for non-commercial and non-exclusive use freely.
A guarantee or an adhesion for topicality
and correctness is not taken over!
