|
| She
walked into the locker room, expecting it to be empty. No such
luck. She saw Colonel Jack O'Neill standing in front of his
locker, putting his set of dogtags around his neck. |
| Feeling
that he was being watched, from years of Black Ops training, he
turned and stared into the blue eyes of Samantha Carter, who was
standing against the door jam, waiting patiently. |
| "Sorry.
I'm outta here." Jack said, trying to be humorous. He hoped
that it had worked. When he glanced back up at her, he saw that
Sam was smiling. //It worked.// Jack thought to himself, grinning
inwardly. |
| "It's
okay, Colonel. I was going to get something from my locker. That's
all." Sam said simply, walking over and opening the door to
her locker. She didn't notice the sealed envelope that fell from
her locker shelf and onto the floor. She turned and left the room
with a wave to Jack. |
| Jack
walked over to Carterīs locker and bent down, picking up the
envelope. He turned it over and noticed that his name had been
neatly printed on the front. He knew that it had to be a card,
guessing from the size and texture of it. He toiled with the idea
of opening the envelope, not sure if she had wanted him to read it
or not. He then decided, //What the hell? The worst that could
happen, is that she gets mad at me.// He knew though, that he was
signing his own death warrent by doing this. He opened the
envelope and removed the card. |
| On
the front, he saw a red rose and gold lettering that read,
"To My Best Friend" and he opened up the card and read
the inside inscription, which had been written by Sam. It read: |
| MANY
WORDS THOUGHT SO MANY UNSPOKEN. I HAVE TRIED TO SAY BUT WITH NO
SUCCESS. HOW DO YOU TELL YOUR BEST FRIEND AND COMMANDING OFFICER
THAT YOU LOVE HIM? |
| Jack
paused, trying to take all of this in at one time, then continued: |
| JACK,
YOU ARE STRONG AND YOU HAVE GIVEN SO MUCH TO ME. MAYBE THE FUTURE
WILL BE HELD WITH REWARDS FOR BOTH OF US. FOR NOW, FRIENDS ARE
GOOD ENOUGH FOR US. HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, COLONEL!!!! LOVE
ALWAYS AND FOREVER, SAM. |
| Jack
tried not to blush, but couldn't stop the blood from flowing to
his already red cheeks. He stood to leave, but noticed that Sam
was again standing in the doorway, watching him with a smile on
her face. |
| "I
guess you found the card, Colonel," Sam said. "I was
gonna give to ya on Sunday, being that that's when Valentine's is
and all." Jack sat back down on the same bench that he had
just been sitting on, gesturing for Sam to sit next to him. Sam
sat on his right side, their backs toward the door. He looked at
her with burning curiousity. She looked at him with such passion,
knowing what effect his chocolate brown eyes did to her senses. |
| "Why
didn't you tell me, Carter?" Jack asked, wondering this
himself. She only looked at him and shrugged her small shoulders
with an uncertain shrug. |
| "I
guess it had, or rather, has something to do with that virus that
we brought back from the Land of the Dark. I've been embarrassed
ever since then." Sam said with painful regret. |
| Jack
took one look at the expression on her face and knew that she had
thought about this long, and most likely, very hard. He turned
slightly towards her and placed his right arm around her shoulders,
resting his right hand on her right shoulder. This made Sam turn
her head to face him, causing her to stare into his brown eyes again. Eyes that
made her tingle all over her body, whenever she made contact with
them. He only stared at her, blood flowing faster with his new
adrenaline rush. |
| He
pulled her closer to him, leaned over her slightly, and met his
lips to hers. He felt no resistance from her at all. |
| Not
fighting back, Sam then brought her right hand to the back of Jackīs neck, not wanting to part. Sam scooted closer to him,
longing for his love and caring. Jack held her close with both
arms, giving in to his new found desire to love again. Sam
deepened the kiss, hoping that Jack would do the same. |
| Jack
opened up and let Sam explore his mouth with her tongue, Jack
returned the action. Sam, who was into the kiss very deeply,
couldn't hold back a groan of pleasure. Jack knew that things were
going to be different around here. |
| Sam,
who was in desperate need of air, pulled away hesitantly. Jack
stared at her with a new respect and love. He knew that this was
what he had wanted since the day he met her. //I can over look the
science thing, I suppose.// Jack thought. |
| "Well,
that was exciting." Jack said, grinning slyly. He was smiling
real big when he saw that Sam was smiling at him. |
| "This
changes everything, you know," Sam said matter-of-factly,
thinking of how much trouble they'd get into. But she didn't care
at that moment. //Shut up, Sam. You think too much.// she thought
to herself. "What if Daniel, General Hammond or Teal'c find
out about this? Let alone what Janet will ask me!" Sam asked
worriedly. |
| "You
let me take care of that," Jack said simply. "I'll take
care of everything." Jack smiled, making Sam smile in return. |
| "I
love you, Jack." Sam finally said out loud, admitting that it
was there and very real. Jack, who was still smiling, smiled wider
and leaned in, kissing her again. He then sat straight, again
looking at her now sparkling blue eyes. |
| "I
love you too, Samantha Carter." Jack said, admitting it to
himself that he was in love again. He then sat on the bench with a
leg on each side of it, pulled Sam closer to him, leaned down and
started kissing her the way he had just moments before, but with a
more firey, intense passion. Sam enjoyed everything about him
before, but now, she could add one more thing to his list. |
| "Whoa!
Sorry, to interrupt Sam, Jack. Um...." Daniel said with
sudden embarrassment. "I wanted to let you know that General
Hammond is throwing a Valentine's Day party at his house and that
we're all invited." Daniel finished. |
| "Thanks,
Daniel. Tell the general that we'll be there." Jack replied,
hoping that Daniel wouldn't tell anyone, but knew that he had to
face it, he and Sam were together. Jack looked at Daniel then Sam,
leaned down and kissed her again, letting Daniel know that he was
in love again. Sam was his forever. |
