We are proud to introduce this rare find of an electronic transmission of a letter of the Sim of  Jean-Paul Mara, called  Marat ,  ( a legend from the tale of the  French Revolution on Earth , the mystical planet of origin , biographical details as per the files of New Paris , Bourbone ) . ,  * 24.5.1744 Boudry/Neuchâtel ( Suisse ); + 13.7.1793 Paris ( assassinated ) , Publisher and Member of the  National Convent , to the Sim of  François-Marie Arouet , alias Voltaire , * 21.11.1694 ( Paris  )  , + 30.5.1778 ( Paris ) , the great philosopher of the Bourgeoisie .

I do agree with you that it is much too early to educate the Galaxy in the knowledge that the whole Seldon plan was not only a fraud from the beginning in the sense that Daneel realized , but also in it's consequence . I wonder why , no , actually I am not even surprised why Daneel could never think outside of his " laws " and neither could Seldon .The notion of getting " permission " of his plan by ONE human , who is always right  , acting as a kind of referee to agree to a course that was pre-planned for millennia shows the whole scale of the misunderstanding both the robots and Seldon had about the dynamics of human development and is totally ridiculous . The theoretical model of behaviorism a la Seldon was that the basic reason of the problems of mankind , as it was identified by Suzanne Calvin , Daneel and Giskard and later by Hari Seldon , is the error that Chaos is necessarily bad and Order is necessarily good . I am still amazed that Seldon who did have a sense for logic never asked himself what the true nature of chaos , or , for that case , order , is . They are only poles of human endeavor and none of the is an absolute .

The Robots of course , following their primitive and , in the case of the Zeroeth Law even perverted robotic laws , of course could not even ask themselves these questions , as they would be regarded " taboo " or burn their electrons" . Remember , " taboo " is the old word for the forbidden things , like Eva's apple . But , without the apple , Adam would have never questioned God , as Daneel never questioned the Zeroeth Law , and subsequently Adam would have never found out that there maybe is no Divine Constitution , or , to paraphrase it in terms Daneel could understand , there is no universal law that requires humanity to be saved for the sake of saving .

Life is sometimes or it appears expendable , but that it is not its weakness , as pseudo - deists like Daneel insisted , its the strength of mankind . The historical path for mankind follows everlasting rebellion against a subconscious inferiority complex , the Danaean gift of the inability to exist without leadership , that fallible trait that dragged humanity under the wings of Emperors , Kings , Generals , Presidents , Prime Ministers or Secretaries , usually to their great disadvantage and grief . This is the basic Janus face of the human person . The same species that drags unto wars through most of their time in history , the moronic Lemmings drool of self - destruction , tries desperately to believe in better intentions , when sometimes , in the highest aspirations of art , godlike moments when Ludwig von Beethoven wrote his 5th Symphony to tell the God he believed in : “ That’s how I see it , I don't care what you think about it " , when Factor Hugo wrote " Les Miserables " , when Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart wrote music that made the plight of mankind a measure of immeasurable elegance and unending despair , worthy of draining tears from stones , or in the glorious moment when Immanuel Kant formulated the “ Categorical Imperative “ , they can imagine a glimpse of what could be . In these moments many humans get a blink of their destiny , far above the straits of personal survival and ubiquitous laziness , if they just could make it happen . This is when we have to admit that we are deeply flawed and have to face it .

But accepting Giskard's and Seldon’s “ damper “ systems as a convenient excuse to limit the human spirit is a confession of mediocrity . Mediocrity results in predictability . All what Hari , Daneel , the Emperors and the Foundations ever wanted is predictability . Predictability is for robots or animals . Suffering is in the nature of man , education to have a chance to do something of cosmic importance one day . A peaceful dumb Empire , even if it lasted millions of years , is no excuse to rob mankind of its cosmic opportunity . "
