future of the Galaxy. A decision that Gaia couldn't make but believed that
Trevize had a special aptitude that would enable him make the correct decision.

4422 AD from the neighbouring world of
Nexon; originally as summer homes for Nexonians. The outermost of three
worlds with a diameter of 9,500 miles and 30,000,000 square miles of fertile
land. Became independent in 4522 AD. Population 20,000. Had a robot/human
ratio of approximately 10,000/1. Ruled by a Regent. Was renowned amongst
the other Spacer worlds for it's variety and excellence of robot models
exporting specialised robots to all the other Spacer worlds. It also boasted
a delicacy known as Pachinkas. In circa 4920 AD, Solaria withdrew completely from
the affairs of the Galaxy and over a period of tens of thousands of years
evolved into a race of hermaphrodites and reduced its population to a mere
1200. Solarians also evolved small transducer lobes, about the size of a
hen's egg, which are activated by the flow of heat. They could be used to
control objects, at a distance, by thought. A process known as mental
transduction.

Smyrno, it is described as a planet poor in resources, particularly
mineral resources, and of negligible economic value. A mild planet with a

inhabited planet from the central black hole. Terminus is an ancient word
meaning "the end of the line". Consists of 10,000 inhabited
islands only one of which is large enough to be considered a continent, the
one that contains Terminus City, the capitol. It remained unsettled for five

the Empire. Land area of 75,000,000 square miles and was entirely covered by
metal with the exception of the Emperor's Palace. Circa 10000 GE domes were
constructed covering the entire planet, again with the exception of the Palace.
Population at its height was 45,000,000,000. This figure was set by law.
Trantor, at its height, consisted of over 800
sectors including Streeling , Imperial, Billibottom, Dahl, Wye, Mycogen, Anemoria, Millimaru,
Mandanov, Ery.
Hari Seldon established the second of his two Foundations on Trantor, which
he described, poetically, as Star's End. With their mentallic abilities the
Second Foundation was able to preserve themselves as Trantor and the First
Galactic Empire crumbled about them. After the fall of the Galactic Empire and
the resulting de-metallisation of the surface, the local non-Second Foundation
