haben im Jahre 2002 bei einem Besuch bei Hans Schurmann "Marldon Christmas
Trees" das Singerhaus besichtigt. Wunderschön. Was muss das für eine schöne Zeit
gewesen sein.

family has got an old manual-acting THE ZINGER MANFG. CO sewing-machine with N° 2682666
is produced by the firm "THE ZINGER MANFG. CO". We think it was produced in
1911. On the shuttle cover strike following information – PATENTED U.S.A. JUNE
14–1910 AND FEB21–1899.
This sewing-machine has got an
interesting history. In June 1912 it was given as a marriage gift to my grandmother by my
great-grandfather, a peasant from the village Bolshaya Borla of Samarskaya Province. My
grandmother became a dressmaker and during long years she made dresses and linen for her
own family and other people. She made things not only woolen and cotton fabrics, but she
also sewed outer garments from leather. Thanks to this sewing-machine our family could
survive off lean years 1921-22, 1933-34; years of the Second Patriotic War.
After the Great October Revolution and during the First Patriotic War
my grandparents had to hide it into the ground. It was saved during the fire which
happened in the house after the Second Patriotic War war. A ceiling cross-beam made a hole
in the hatch and the machine fell into a cold cellar add was not damaged.
During all years this sewing-machine was no need in repairing and
changing parts. After my grandparents death this sewing-machine was succeeded to me and my
wife. The highest quality of the sewing-machine produced by the specialists of the firm
"ZINGER" has got a great recognition and gratitude. It may be used as an
advertisement and it may be exhibited in the museums.
