One of our mainstays is the development and manufacture of trochoid (Eaton) oilpumps as plug-and-play items for you valuable historic automoble. We are convinced that a good and dependable oil pressure and supply is one of the best possible "insurances" against technical failure. Even where the original gear pump is still servicable, and "Eaton" type pumpe is much better. Where the original pump is beyond restoration, there should be no question. We have designed and made pumps for the folloing vehicles: Horch, BMW328, Wanderer, MB S/SS/SSK or 300SL. We may even have one on the shelf. If not, it can easily be made up from our CAD drawings, and if we haven't made one yet, we will at your request. Sometimes it is even necessary to make tools like a 3/4"-14 tapered BSP tap because it simply can no longer be had.
Power steering for your "over weight" historic vehicle is another of our developents. We have made and installed this in several Horchs, a classic Packard and even in a 50ies Facel Vega. For those vehicles for which we have made drawings, the parts can be supplied if necessary, though we prefer to install and test the package ourselves.
The restoration of the steering wheel of the Daimler Grand Prix car of 1906 was another challenge. The wooden rim had to be made up entirely following that of the GP car of 1908 which, though basically complete, was also restored to a decent finish here.
The specialty we have been doing longest is the rebuilding of transmissions, in particular for Mecedes Benz automobiles, but we can rework any make. We use original manufacturer drawings for the most part, but new parts are always made from our own CAD drawings. We are also able to manufacture entire transmissions like this one for a right hand drive SSK. As well as transmissions and differentials, we make several different clutches for the S/SS/SSK types from the original multi-plate to a modern single-plate type which can withstand maltreatment without warping.
Wire wheels are a very important part of our product line. From rebuild to completely new wheels using custom made hubs and rims in a completely redesigned spoke layout with stronger spokes, we have and continue to supply what you need at the highest possible quality level. Highest quality wheels are your best life insurance if you are racing your car. The wheels shown here are for the S/SS/SSK. All parts were custom made to our drawings and the wheels were finished here in house. These are NOT replica wheels. These are extra heavy-duty wheels for racing. For the Mercedes Benz Museum we have made several sets of wheels for show and rebuilt the originals for racing use. Wheels such as thos in Fangio's GP W196 or the 1939 W154
We manufacture waterpumps, fuel pumps, starter clutches and complete starters for many Mercedes models.
In the past, we made a limited series of Junkers aircraft engine fuel pumps of the kind sometimes used in MD 540. We have also made the Autovac found in the S/SS/SSKs.
Not just parts, we have made 2 new SSK engines, one as a true replica, the other as a look-alike racing engine utilizing modern materials and designs where possible such as CNC milled roller rockerarms or drop-forged conrods with a dedicated oil lead to the king pin. We have aso made a completely new Porsche-System twin carburator.
Not what one would call high-tech, we were requested to finish two replicas of the Daimler Reitwagen engine from 1885 and make it work. There is no extant original and none of the exhibited replicas actually run. The only things to go by are the patent papers and contemporary descriptions. Both of our replicas actually run. One could say, that these are the first to run since the original was built. Here, you can see how happy we were when the first motor of the two finally could be coaxed into running.
We have probably aready made what you are looking for, several times.
Valve seat rings and valve guides go without saying, either to data sheet or shrunk into the head you supply.
Motorcycles are not foreign to us, whether it is a modern racer, or a vary rare 1954 Mondial or this 1978 Laverda 1200 or this 1978 Ducati 900ss or this exceedingly rare and beautiful Bimota DB1SR. we run the SOS racer and the Bimota ourselves. The Laverda and Ducati are customer machines as well as many others not shown here.
