If you don't know your locator, then figure out your position (Latitude/Longitude) with your smartphone. There are free Apps available also, converting your position into a locator. Just search i.e. in the App-Store for "HAM RADIO" and/or for "MAIDENHEAD".

Or you have to find out the position of your QTH on a good map: Latitude North/South, and Longitude West/East.
Just check out this Web-Page from **Laurent F6FVY.**

Also you can convert a known Locator to Latitude and Longitude here.

To calculate the distance between two locators go to the **bottom of this page.**

Use this form, if you know the Latitude and Longitude in Degrees and fractions of a Degree.

Use this form, if you know the Latitude and Longitude in Degrees, Minutes and fractional Minutes.

Use this form, if you know the Latitude and Longitude in Degrees, Minutes and Seconds.

Use this form to calculate the distance between two locators. Enter the source and the destination locator or select a DX or call area as source or as destination. This calculation is based on the assumption the earth is a perfect sphere with a radius of 6378.16 km.

A small part of the code is from Stefan, DC8SB. I have the code conciderably modified and expanded.
